SNORE

So I dont mind working... it passes the time and pays the bille but man when youre sitting at a desk for 8 hours with a whole lotta nothing to do its pretty boring! I mean ok I get ot talk to the crazies on the phone and the cute boys around the office but much of the day is spent emailing random nothingness to other friends working at mindless jobs or checking myspace/friendster/facebook... It just makes me real;ize that there is no way I could do this for the rest of my life. Thank goodness as difficult as the career/life of a singer can be, Boring is not a word I would use to describe it. I feel sorry for people who either dont have dreams or dont follow them because doing something you love is so much more important than merely eeking by...

To my adoring fans... :-P

According to my adoring Fan... I need to update you all on the recital and actuall some other news as well!

First things first... I survived!!! The Recital was Saturday night and went off with only minor hitches that the audience new slim to nothing about :) I think I sang well and aside from a few musico-rhythmic issues I was pleased with the outcome... Most importantly the dress looked great! ill post it when I get the pics uploaded! I had a pretty good turn out, about 50 people... not bad considering the minimal publicity I sent out. Thank goodness for sites like facebook and friendster which make inviting people to things uber easy! Also Simon Estes, a world renown Bass-Baritone who teaches part time at BU came and brought one of his German Agents... They came and talked to me back stage afterward and seemed pleased, He said they'd "be in touch" so who knows what that means...

In other news: Most people know this already but, I have been asked by the Aforementioned Mr Estes to join him as the soprano soloist in the Dvorak Te Deum!! The clincher, as if that wasnt awesome enough... It is with the Czech National Symphony Orchestra in PRAGUE!!! I am so excited !! Nothing like a career enhancing all expense paid european adventure to get your juices flowing!! I leave Dec 13 and return the 21st. There are two concerts, one on the 17th at the Prague Hilton where I am staying and one in the Dvorak hall at the Rudolfinum. I cant believe this is actually happening! If anyone has requests for bohemian handicrafts let me know! :)

So for now Im temping, singing at church, and witht he Armenians, and I have a student starting next week as soon as i figure out what day I can use St. Pauls for lessons, They have very graciously offered to let me use the choir room to teach which I am very greatful for! A bunch of choir members and one of the pastors and her wife cmae to my recital, I was touched that they made the effort and all of them seemed pleased!

Oh also last week marked the beginning of BU's rediculous master class series! Thursday I was sitting about 50 feet from Renee Fleming! Now as most of you know I am not the biggest fan of her musically or her acting, however as a teacher... shes phenomenal! I was sitting there thinking, I could hang out with this woman she seemed pretty chill and had a great sense of humor. My favorite quote came when my friend, and awesome soprano, Michelle sang "il est doux, il est bon" from Herodiade... At the end there is a moderately high note with no fermata but its the climax of the piece so Renee said "There's no fermata there... but you're a soprano!!! Put one in!" Nice! And let me just say that I need to know how many kneecaps I need to take out, or who's leg i need to Hump to get on the Debbie Voigt M/C in March... so not fair, since I am done school I cant :(!!! But alas... Maybe I can be on the commitee to carry her flowers or the committee to stalk a Diva please advise...
